Fine-tuned a transformer model to classify sentiment in product reviews, with a small Flask API and React front end to test it live. Reached 91% accuracy on a held-out test set.
AI & Machine Learning student
Third-year Computer Science student focused on machine learning and NLP. I like turning research papers into working code — and explaining what I learn along the way.
About me
I'm a Computer Science student concentrating in Artificial Intelligence, currently in my third year. I got into machine learning after building a spam classifier for a class project and realizing how much I liked debugging models as much as writing them.
Most of my work sits at the intersection of NLP and applied ML — I enjoy taking a paper's core idea and reimplementing it from scratch to actually understand it, then figuring out how to make it useful.
Outside of coursework, I contribute to a couple of open-source ML tooling projects and mentor first-year students in my school's AI club.
Skills
A working toolkit, not a checklist — I'm still adding to this every semester.
Projects
A mix of class projects, personal experiments, and open-source contributions.
Fine-tuned a transformer model to classify sentiment in product reviews, with a small Flask API and React front end to test it live. Reached 91% accuracy on a held-out test set.
Built a convolutional neural network from scratch (no high-level layers) to classify MNIST digits, then wrapped it in a small drawing canvas so anyone can test it in the browser.
A retrieval-augmented chatbot that answers questions from a course's lecture notes and slides, built to help classmates study for finals. Used by ~150 students in one semester.
Time-series model predicting short-term traffic congestion using public city sensor data, comparing an LSTM against a gradient-boosted baseline. Written up as a short research report.
